How do I get to Liberation Conference?

Where should I go when I arrive?

Please make your way to the entrance which is on Leopold Grove.

 

Is there a car park?

Winter Gardens Blackpool does not have on-site public parking, but there are many situated close to the venue, such as the Houndshill car park. Open air ground-level parking is also available on the corner of Adelaide Street and Alfred Street approximately 200m from the Church Street entrance. There is also a limited metered street parking available close by.

 

Is there a luggage store?

There is a staffed cloakroom at the venue where items can be left at a charge of £2 per item (card and cash accepted).

 

Will the event be catered?

Liberation Conference will not be catered. You will be able to purchase food and other refreshments from vendors within the venue, and there are plenty of shops, restaurants and cafes in the immediate vicinity of the venue.

Dinner will not be included as part of the evening activities on Day 1 of Liberation Conference, so we recommend that Reps have food beforehand.

 

Is there accessibility information about the venue?

Liberation Conference is taking place at Winter Gardens Blackpool, which has two levels.

Is accommodation provided?

Accommodation is not provided as part of this event. Please ensure your Students' Union has booked your accommodation before you travel to Blackpool.

 

How do I register when I get there?

We will email you a QR code the day before Liberation Conference begins. We will scan your QR code to register you. This email will come from [email protected] - please email this address if you have not received a QR code.

Registration will take place in the main entrance of the venue, and will run between 9am and 10am on Day 1 of Liberation Conference.

If you arrive later than 10am on Day 1, there will still be NUS staff members ready to welcome you and register you at the Information Point, which will also be in the main entrance.

 

What if I'm a Rep for National Conference too?

If you are a National Conference Rep, you will need to re-register for this event. Night-before registration for National Conference will be available between 5pm and 7pm in the foyer of the venue. Registration on Day 1 of National Conference begins from 9am.

I'm a vote-only Rep - how do I engage?

This event will not be livestreamed.

Vote-only Reps will be able to vote in NUS FTO elections taking place the week of the 8th April and these elections close on Thursday 11th April. You will receive an email from [email protected] with the subject line 'This is your chance to vote'.

Voting on policies discussed at Liberation Conference will open at 5pm on Day 2 of Conference and will close at 12pm on Wednesday 24th April 2024.
