Students have always had issues with their accommodation, but in recent years things have gotten worse.

The cost-of-living crisis and a nationwide housing shortage is pushing students into ever more desperate situations.

Generation Rent have information on their website to help students and other renters to know their rights.

They also have a form for students to sign up and become part of the campaign to reform renters' rights.

NUS is fighting for student tenants' rights

Student rent has risen by 61% in the last 10 years, and has spiralled more during the cost-of-living crisis.

On top of that, the average student loan in England leaves students with just 50p a week after paying their rent, according to HEPI and Unipol.

As part of the student Manifesto for our Future, NUS is demanding action from the next government to control the cost of rent.
