How do I get to Liberation Conference?

Where should I go when I arrive?

Please make your way to the entrance which is on Leopold Grove.

 

Is there a car park?

Winter Gardens Blackpool does not have on-site public parking, but there are many situated close to the venue, such as the Houndshill car park. Open air ground-level parking is also available on the corner of Adelaide Street and Alfred Street approximately 200m from the Church Street entrance. There is also a limited metered street parking available close by.

 

Is there a luggage store?

There is a staffed cloakroom at the venue where items can be left at a charge of £2 per item (card and cash accepted).

 

Will the event be catered?

Lunch will be provided on both days of Liberation Conference, and dinner will be provided on the evening of Day 1. Dinner on Day 1 will begin at 8pm to enable those fasting for Ramadan to attend. Refreshments will be provided during break times. 

Lunch will be served in The Pavilion and dinner will be served in The Spanish Suite.

 

Is there accessibility information about the venue?

Liberation Conference is taking place at Winter Gardens Blackpool, which has two levels. 

The foyer is all flat floor consisting of the main venue entrance where registration will take place.  There are 2 breakout rooms on this floor.  The main room and 2 further breakouts are on the send level (Circle Level) and there are lifts and escalators up to this floor.  The Multifaith Room is on level -1 and there is lift access to this floor. 

There will be a dedicated well-being / quiet space on the Circle Level as well.

Is accommodation provided?

Accommodation is not provided as part of this event. Please ensure your Students' Union has booked your accommodation before you travel to Blackpool.

 

How do I register when I get there?

We will email you a QR code the day before Liberation Conference begins. We will scan your QR code to register you. This email will come from [email protected] - please email this address if you have not received a QR code.

Registration will take place in the main entrance of the venue, and will run between 9:30am and 11am on Day 1 of Liberation Conference.

If you arrive later than 11am on Day 1, there will still be NUS staff members ready to welcome you and register you at the Information Point, which will also be in the main entrance.

 

I'm an Online Delegate - how do I engage?

This event will not be livestreamed. Online delegates will be able to vote on policies and elections taking place at Liberation Conference. All voting will take place online, and you will receive an email from [email protected] with the subject line 'This is your chance to vote'. Voting opens after the last National Conference session and will be open until Tuesday 25th April at 12 noon.
