The Chancellor's freeze to repayment thresholds will hit graduates on Plan 2 loans hard, while high interest rates mean that for most their debt is growing faster than they can pay it off.
We call on the Chancellor to:
- Reverse the freeze on student loan repayment thresholds
- Reform interest rates so balances do not grow faster than repayments
- Introduce clearer, fairer terms that don't penalise lower and middle earners
