22,000 students have been notified that their maintenance loans and childcare grants are being halted and they will be expected to pay what they have already received back – all because the government have decided that learning on the weekends doesn’t make you eligible for financial support. 

This is a scandal. The government are taking aim at people who are working extremely hard to improve their futures; studying on their weekends alongside their full-time jobs or caring responsibilities.
