A family friendly event where we will be officially handing in our petition to stop the government from taking weekend students’ maintenance loans. 

The government have threatened to take the maintenance loans and childcare grants from 22,000 students, most of whom are working class, and thousands of whom are parents. All of them are just trying to build a better future. 

We won’t let this happen. 

Join us 4-6pm, Thursday, 16th April 2026 to officially hand in our 12,000-strong petition to the Department for Education. 

This will be a child-friendly event with a fun, relaxed atmosphere. Please bring your families so we can show the government the real people who will suffer if the students’ financial support is withdrawn.
