But right now they face huge legal, social and financial barriers, with no recourse to public funds, a hostile environment, and even state-sponsored harassment.
The UK could be an amazing place to be an international student. To do that we need to break down all barriers to studying, living, and working in the UK. We could do that by:
- No more guarantors: Make housing accessible for international students
- Scrapping the NHS Surcharge and the working hours cap for international students
- Lower salary thresholds for employers to take on international graduates
- Devolving powers to governments across four nations of the UK to set their own rules on international students
- Ensure that international students can access hardship funding
