NUS UK is a company limited by guarantee. As well as informal feed in to the work of NUS UK and democratic conferences, NUS UK hosts regular General Meetings which are company law meetings for our members. The purpose is to pass formal business proposed by the board or requested by the members in accordance with our Articles of Association.

The business was:
- To consider and pass the principles of democratic and corporate reform
- To consider and pass a special resolution to amend NUS UK's Articles of Association.

The meeting took place on 30 November, 1.30pm at the SU Strategy Exchange event
The business was:
- to consider revised proposals on membership contribution and processes for leaving membership. Members may recall that resolutions on this matter were passed at the General Meeting held June 2023. The board and finance committee have considered member feedback and prepared revised proposals on this matter in response to this helpful feedback.
- to consider a proposed resolution authorising NUS UK to incur political expenditure for any elections including the General Election. This is a matter of ensuring our compliance with company law.

The business was:
- Update on NUS UK's work and finances
- Appointment of new auditors
- To consider, and if thought fit, pass a resolution regarding collectivism and membership contribution. To the effect of: reaffirming our collective commitments around leaving membership, increasing the minimum and maximum levels of fee in line with inflation and the review period for this, advising on the membership contribution level for unions who choose to affiliate to NUS UK only.
