The government, through the Quality Assurance Agency, receives feedback on how your college or university is doing. Your voice, however, was not always heard.
Thanks to our intervention, student feedback is now a significant aspect of the process.
We worked with Citizen’s Advice and the housing charity Shelter to get a tenancy deposit scheme included as part of the Housing Bill.
This scheme helps protect your deposit and we’ve estimated that, during the last year alone, £52 million will be returned to students that would otherwise have been kept by unscrupulous landlords.
Those students living in rented accommodation also remain exempt from council tax thanks to our continued work with government advisors and inquiries.
In terms education funding, we are continuing to build strong relationships with MPs in order to lobby effectively for a fairer funding system.
