Students’ Union reception is located on Square 3 of the Wivenhoe Park campus. The Union building in Southend is located directly alongside the main University entrance on Elmer Approach.

The University of Essex Students’ Union is one of the leading Unions in the country and is dedicated to making student life the very best it could possibly be.

It is run by students and is there for you throughout your time at University, offering support, advice, entertainment, social activities, personal development, employment opportunities and much much more.

As well as representing you and supporting your study needs, the Students’ Union also gives you the opportunity to get involved in a wide range of exciting societies and sports clubs, with almost every interest catered for.

The Students’ Union also runs a wide range of award-winning facilities across two campuses, including a dedicated Advice Centre, the £1.25 million Sub Zero night-club (awarded the honour of “best student venue in the UK” at the national Smirnoff BEDA awards), four excellent bars, a full service pizza restaurant, three convenience stores, a post office and ‘The Union’, a brand new social space for students at the Southend campus.
