Havering College Students’ Union is a group learners who have been elected to represent the views all learners to the College Governors, Management, local and national government. Weekly meetings chaired by the President are held to discuss any issues or concerns learners may have, work on campaigns and plan events

The Union also organises and encourages social events, charity events and an award ceremony for learners with their own budget of over £10,000 per year. One of the Students’ Union flagship events is the Students Union Variety Awards. The award ceremony aims to recognise the achievement of both learners and staff in a professionally organised ceremony attended by over 100 guests. The Ceremony is also filled with guest’s speakers and entertainment each year.

The Students’ Union aims to promote the general welfare of students. They represent all students, regardless of race, creed or circumstance to achieve their full potential. The Unions Vice President of Liberation alongside other officers are at the forefront of promoting and discussing equal opportunities and diversity within the college.
