The Student Union act as the voice of the learners they regularly meet College staff, Governors and external people.  The Student Union also organise a number of music events, trips and can support clubs and societies at the College. All learners at Barking & Dagenham College are automatically members of the National Union of Students (NUS) unless they choose to opt out.  Learners can stand for a Student Union Post during the election in October helping make a real difference in the way the College is run.

Student Council

Each class is encouraged to elect a Class Representative. These Class Representatives form the Student Council. Each Class Representative is responsible for attending meetings with the Student Union each term reporting on issues within their class. They also pass on information to their class from the Student Union.  Class Representatives are involved in Forums feeding back to the College on matters affecting learners.
