#GenerationVote Twitter Hustings: Dumfriesshire, Clydesdale & Tweeddale

Tuesday 6 June 2017 NUS News

Our final online hustings took place yesterday, with candidates standing in Dumfriesshire, Clydesdale & Tweeddale answering questions via Twitter. We asked Douglas Beattie (Labour), John Ferry (Liberal Democrat), Mairi McAllan (SNP) and David Mundell (Conservative) about their plans for education and why local students should vote for them.

What will you do to ensure students in Scotland don’t miss out on opportunities to study across the EU post-Brexit?

What will you do to encourage the UK Gov to change their mind on the reintroduction of the Post-Study Work Visa?

How will you make sure our colleges have funding they need?

Our NHS is a key concern for students – if elected, how will you help give it the resources it needs?

How will you ensure that students are not left to bear the brunt of increased debt?
