Dates for Student Media Summit 2018 announced

We’re delighted to announce that the Student Media Summit - our flagship event for the UKs top student journalists and reporters - is returning this August! 

Student Media Summit - the premier gathering for students aspiring to careers in the media industry - is back for it’s eleventh year from Thursday 30 to Friday 31 August 2018 and you can book your place from today.

What to expect from this year’s event.

The special two-day summit is hosted by NUS and Amnesty International and is designed to help students improve their skills, prepare them for their next steps in journalism and offer some excellent networking opportunities with professionals from across the industry. It will also provide a unique opportunity to get some fresh and exclusive content.

There will also be stalls promoting trainee schemes with Channel 4’s Investigative Unit, the Guardian, the Press Association at the event and much more, including;

·         A chance to hear from our high-profile keynote speakers

·         Skills sessions on interviewing, news writing, how to get editors to notice you,   photography, and investigative journalism

·         Panel discussions on BAME people and Women in media

·         Question and answer sessions with leading national journalists

Student Media Summit will again take place at the Human Rights Action Centre in London, the headquarters of Amnesty International UK on Thursday 30 August (12-7pm) and Friday 31 August (9.30am-5pm).

Attendance is free but there is a £5 registration fee to cover administration costs. All food and drink will also be provided over the two days.
