In Conversation with Gurinder Chadha

Wednesday 1 March 2017 Film

70 years on from the savage partition of India and Pakistan, the powerful new film Viceroy’s House tells the incredible true story of the final months of British rule in India. We spoke to its director, Gurinder Chadha, about the need for more education around this part of history, the lack of diversity in cinema and why the underlying themes of the film are still so significant today.

Viceroy's House stars Manish Dayal, Huma Qureshi, Om Puri, Hugh Bonneville, Gillian Anderson and Michael Gambon and is out in cinemas on Friday 3 March.
