Carers UK was set up to campaign for and support the 6.5 million people - young and old - across the UK who look after a disabled, seriously ill, or older relative, loved one or friend.
If you are a carer, or are helping someone in your family to care, Carers UK is here for you with information, advice and support.
If you look after, or help look after a friend or loved one, you’ll know all about the ups and downs of caring. Carers look after friends and relatives out of love, but caring can tough.
Caring can affect your physical and mental health, it can take its toll on your work or study, your finances, your social life and your family life. Guilt, resentment, stress and loneliness are just some of the common feelings that can come with caring.
Carers UK believes you shouldn't have to go through it alone. It can be good to talk to other carers who understand what you are going through. Many carers find our online forum a great support forum.carersuk.org.
For advice and information on accessing financial and practical support with caring visit www.carersuk.org or contact the Carers UK Adviceline by calling 0808 808 7777 or emailing firstname.lastname@example.org
Carers UK also campaigns to make life better for carers. Caring will affect us all at some point in our lives and without unpaid carers our NHS would collapse and the country would face a £119 billion care bill it cannot afford.
Carers contribute so much to their communities, yet in return they can face ignorance, isolation and little or no support. Carers UK wants society to respect, value and support carers.
If you or someone you know is affected by caring, Carers UK is here for you. If you would like to support Carers UK we would love to hear from you too.
