Southwark College Students' Union

Keetons Road
London

SE16 4EE

All of our students have the opportunity to join the Students' Union. Each tutor group elects Course Representatives (‘Reps’) who meet regularly with Enrichment Officers to suggest how we might do things better, to voice concerns and to highlight good things about the College. Also, we have a Student Parliament where the Course Reps and the Student Union executive come together to discuss issues that matter to students and campaign to help resolve any issues that arise. The President and the Vice-President/Secretary of the Students' Union are members of the College Corporation - the main governing body of the college. The Students Union has sixteen officers who are directly elected by the students in September/October every year. This election is exciting and very vibrant and attracts a huge amount of interest from the students. Our Students Union is amongst the very few if not the only college to have a dedicated Sustainable Development Officer on the executive. The job of the officer is to promote sustainability and campaign to make the union and the college as a whole the greenest in London.
