Going away to uni or college is a life changing experience and, like anything, you'll have your ups and downs but at the end you'll be so much wiser and glad for what you did.
However, before you get wise, you need some advice. Our freshers section will help you in your new student life.
There's so much to do, and so little time but remember to pace yourself and read our articles to be in the know!
Not everything will be a bed of roses when you begin your student life and you should make yourself aware of this fact to avoid disappointment.
Getting started with the basics
If you are sharing a house for the very first time it can be difficult experience. You can never really tell. However, our handy tips will be able to help you out. And if you're never cooked before in your life, you're in for a treat!
Keep yourself safe
Once you've got your new home or flat make sure you protect yourself. Students are often victims of crime, especially in freshers. Wise up, be safe, and you'll be hold of your mobile and iPod.
Adapting to your new life
Some people adapt quicker than others. That's a fact. Homesickness is more common than you think and it could affect you - but it's not the end of the world if it does.
Also making brand news friends can be a lot of pressure. Just make sure you don't push yourself too much in the first couple of days.
Remember to visit your students' union
Above all, remember that your local students' union is the hub of all activity and should be your first port of call after settling in to your new home. The union is there just for you. Get the best out of it as soon as possible!
