Education network

Graeme KirkpatrickHello! I'm Graeme Kirkpatrick, Vice President Education at NUS Scotland.

I work on our Education campaigns alongside our two Education Campaign Convenors, Robert Foster and Conor Murray-Gauld.

Education is why we all go to college or university in the first place. Our education campaign is about making sure your experience in education – in the classroom, lab, studio, workshop, tutorial or wherever – works for you.

It’s about making sure your views on this experience are heard and can make a difference. It’s about making sure your college or university values student opinions – whether this is on assessments, feedback on work, timetables, what resources you get or how staff use technology – and acts on them.

We support Student Led Teaching Awards which give students the opportunity to have their say on great teachers + give something back.

We work with a fantastic organisation called sparqs (this stands for Student Participation in Quality Scotland) who work with course reps to support their work to make their views of their classmates heard.

We also run campaigns on a ton of other stuff to improve the education part of your education experience.

Education Network

NUS Scotland also runs three student networks – Priority, Community + Education – to give student officers, activists and students' association staff a chance to debate key issues, share ideas + get useful resources, briefings and updates on NUS Scotland's work.
