Help - I cannot sign-in to the website

We have recently received calls from users who are having problems signing in to the website. When they click the Sign In button in the dark blue bar at the top of the page nothing happens.

We have narrowed down the problem to Internet Explorer 11 using Windows 8.1. If this is happening to you too, please using another browser such as Chrome, Safari or Firefox. You will then be able to sign-in normally.

Alternatively go direct to the log-in URL here using IE11: http://www.nus.org.uk/en/login/

Free NUS extra card with your Student Account

First free card

If Lloyds offers you a free NUS extra as part of your Student Account they will send you a letter detailing your unique promotional code to claim your first free card. As long as you open your Student Account between 1st  August 2016 and 11 October 2016 your bank will send you a letter at the beginning of September with your unique NUS promotional code, or if you open after this time within 15 days of opening your account.

You’ll need this code to apply for your first free card for the 2016/17 academic year and will need to do this by 31 December 2016. Your card will be valid until 30 September 2017 regardless of when you apply.

If you lose your promotional code letter to claim your first free NUS extra card or you didn’t receive it in the post from your bank please contact them about this in branch or over the phone.

2nd and 3rd year card renewals

Providing you still hold your Student Account and you applied for your first/second free card by 31 December in the previous academic year shortly before your card expires (on 30th September ) we will send you an email inviting you to renew your card for a second or third and final time.

If you don’t receive your renewal email from us to renew your card for a second or third and final time please firstly check your junk/spam folders. Emails are sent to the email address you registered with us when you ordered your first free card. If you need us to re-send it to you please email our Customer Services team on enquiries@nusextra.co.uk or call 0300 303 8602.

If you ordered your card on-line, sign in with the email address and password that you supplied, when you ordered your NUS extra card.

Please note that if you entered your email address incorrectly when you ordered your card, you must still use this email address. You will be able to amend this, once you have signed in, by clicking on My Account. These details will have been emailed to you shortly after your purchase – please check your email account, including your junk mail.

If you ordered your card through your place of study or by mail order, you will have been sent a password automatically by email. Please check your email account, including your junk mail.

If you have forgotten your password, please use the “forgotten password” function here

Please be aware that you can still register on www.nus.org.uk separately, but this will not allow you to access the discount pages for NUS extra, as this will not be linked to your NUS extra account.

I cannot find my place of study

If you cannot find your place of study in the drop-down list on www.nus.org.uk, your union may not be offering sales of NUS extra cards. See here for a list of non - NUS affiliated unions.

If your place of study does not sell the card on-line, they may offer another method of buying the NUS extra card so please discuss this with a representative from your place of study.

Can my NUS extra card be delivered to my home address?

Most NUS extra cards have to be sent to your place of study to verify your student status.

If you are given the option to enter your home address, at the point of purchase, we shall send your NUS extra card to that address (please note that we only send cards to UK postal addresses only).

If you are a distance learner you may be able to have home delivery but this depends on your place of study.
