A key aim of the website refresh is to improve students’ awareness of all NUS activity. The new section ‘Who We Are’ provides clear and succinct snippets of information about what we do, and how you can get involved, plus a small history section for people who like to delve into the past.
Another primary objective of the refresh is to harness the power of digital campaigning; allowing you to very quickly and easily engage with a wide range of political and social issues, and take action immediately. At the touch of a button you can now petition, register support, send letters to local media, nations, Europe, and of course MPs.
We’re really excited to be able to utilise technology which empowers individual students to speak out about issues which matters to them, while making a meaningful contribution to the collective voice of up to seven million students.
We think that our new design successfully emphasises three crucial things: NUS extra discounts easing the financial pressure on students today, e-action campaigning helping to amplify the student movement’s voice, and wider information about NUS’ varied work throughout the country.
We hope that the new slider function helps to highlight stories and issues which matter to you, and that navigation around the site has become easier, with less distraction from clutter or confusion.
NUS is proud to be able to showcase the inspiring work of our members while supporting further engagement with students’ unions across the country, and it’s these objectives which are at the heart of our redesign.
