The Best Bar None Awards aim to reward, promote and recognise the huge efforts that students’ union bar outlets put in to corporate social responsibility and in particular the wider effects of selling alcohol.

We were the first organisation to adopt the scheme on a national basis from
Greater Manchester Police, and in its seventh year the scheme is stronger than ever.

How the scheme works

The accreditation considers all aspects of a union’s bar operations including drink and drugs policies, crime prevention, fire, security and first aid.

Accredited outlets were recognised at Gold, Silver and Bronze levels and from a shortlist of the best an Overall National Winner was announced. There was also an award for the outlet that has shown the greatest improvement.
