Funding our Future

Graduates will be leaving higher education with, on average, £22,000 worth of debt this summer. Many are struggling to find work to pay off that debt.

NUS has launched a Blueprint which proves that top-up fees are not the only way to fund higher education and proposes a system which is fairer for all.

This autumn, we will be taking our message out into the community to ensure people know that there is an alternative to the current fee regime, and that through campaigning together we can demand a change to a fairer system. This is where our volunteers come in.

Local Campus Organisers

We are looking to recruit ten Local Campus Organisers who will work with local students' unions to engage students and the local community in the Campaign.

Working alongside NUS Regional Organisers, it will be up to you to seek out student activists and recruit them for the Campaign. You will also be involved in activities organised by NUS to promote the Campaign and ensure the success of our Town Takeovers.

What's involved?

These posts are voluntary, and so in many ways that is up to you. We are ideally looking for someone who can spare two to three hours a week to engage students and help organise local activities.

Volunteering for us will provide you with a unique experience to work on a national campaign that will benefit future students. As well as developing organising and campaign skills, you will get to work with members of your local students’ unions. Read our person spec for more details.

How do I apply?

It’s simple – download the application form, and let us know how you meet the person specification. Completed applications should be returned to Jean McLean.
