They new president will officially take up his position for a one year term on 1 July 2011, when the current President Aaron Porter’s term of office ends.
Liam Burns is currently President of NUS Scotland, having studied physics at Heriot-Watt University where he served as the students’ union president. secured commitments from politicians in Scotland to rule out the introduction of fees in the next Scottish parliament.
During his tenure has President of NUS Scotland Liam secured millions of pounds of funding for vulnerable students in further and higher education.
