The protestors walked through the campus to the Chancellor's square where a petition was presented to the University with more than 2,000 signatures. NEC Member Ed Marsh addressed the protest outside the Chancellor’s building.

"Accommodation for the masses"

Throughout the protest, which was organised by James Ogden, Vice President Housing and Community, students chanted “accommodation for the masses, not just for the upper classes" to the tune of Yellow Submarine.

The protest was vibrant and peaceful but, despite the ban on megaphones, protesters ensured their voices were heard. The protest was also supported and attended by the Residence Association Executive Committees.
