Today, students from five universities across Merseyside will be uniting to campaign for a fairer funding system for higher education. Students from Edge Hill, Hope University, The University of Liverpool, John Moores University and The University of Chester will be descending on the city to draw attention to this debate locally. The most exciting and important part of the two days of activities will be that it is targeted at everyone, involving everyone, because it affects everyone.
Among the activities arranged for the two days are a flash mob, a world record Macarena attempt, media photo opportunities, a balloon release and a human wall of debt. At the heart of the event will be the Town Hall Debate where NUS President Wes Streeting will be taking on representatives from the Labour, the Conservative, and Liberal Democrat parties in a battle of visions for the future of the higher education funding system.
Later this week, Bristol will have a brass band on College Green where students wearing green will join them in creating a them create a giant '£' sign shape for an aerial photo from the Cathedral Tower.
