The Awards celebrate excellence in the student movement and are a yearly recognition of the outstanding contribution students, students’ unions and student media make to their communities.
The winners will be announced at a special ceremony in Leeds on the 20 July, at what promises to be a really memorable occasion.
Inspiring, outstanding and remarkable were all words used to describe last year’s winners – if you know someone who fits the bill, why not put them forward for an award. Visit www.nusconnect.org.uk/awards to enter.
The NUS Awards are split across 12 categories including the prestigious Endsleigh Student of the Year, two students’ union of the year awards and Student Journalist of the Year.
Last year’s Student Unionist of the Year, Sheffield University’s Rachel Colley, said: “It was a great honour to win the award, because there were really fantastic students nominated in that category. I hope the award reflects all the fantastic work Sheffield Students’ Union does and the very creative activities department within it. But it is not just for me, I wouldn’t have been inspired or motivated to participate in so much if it wasn’t for the most incredible students and staff at the union I am privileged to work with.
“Good luck to all applicants this year! I am sure you are all incredible people who have given so much to fellow students, officers and staff members. You should be so proud of all you have achieved and how much you have touched the lives of others.”
