The SNP, like Labour and the Greens before them, have committed to the following in the new parliament:
- Improve student support
- Protect graduate numbers and college places
- Rule out tuition fees
The Reclaim Your Voice campaign is calling on every candidate standing for election to go beyond election promises to make cast-iron commitments to students. Click for more information about the campaign.

Robin Parker, President-Elect of NUS Scotland, said: “The decision of the SNP to commit to NUS Scotland’s Reclaim Your Voice campaign is great news for the hundreds of thousands of students across Scotland.
"As more and more political parties sign-up and commit to fight fees, protect numbers and improve financial help for students in the next parliament, it’s clear that the student voice is getting through.
“We know the funding gap between English and Scottish universities is much smaller than feared, somewhere between £150m and £200m. This is clearly bridgeable and shows introducing fees would be a choice, not a necessity.
"Ruling out fees is one thing but unless we improve financial help for students we will continue to price the poorest students out of education. That's why the SNP prioritising a £7000 minimum income entitlement for students is so important.
“We will be calling on every candidate of every party to sign up to our commitments. Ahead of the election, we will be letting tens of thousands of students know which of their local candidates have signed the commitments, and which have not."
