Phishing scams: a warning from the Student Loans Company

The Student Loans Company are urging all students to never reveal their bank account details online in light of increased numbers of students falling victim to phishing scams.

More and More students are getting scammed by emails asking them to change their bank account details online. These phishing emails will ask you to do things such as ‘validate your account’, or provide your personal, security and bank account details online.

The Student Loans Company want to make it clear that they will never ask you to update your bank details by email, or verify your student account details online.

Therefore, if you receive any mail asking you to do this, ignore it and delete it immediately. If it looks suspicious, it probably is.
