Congratulations to everyone receiving their Higher results today - and the 35,000 who already got them yesterday by text – the hard work and the waiting is finally over!
I know that the weeks between the end of exams and getting your results can feel like the longest month of your life.
Maybe you’ve got exactly what you wanted or maybe the results are not quite what you expected – whether better or worse. But whatever your results, Highers are a lot of work and you should be really proud.
So much is going on when you get your results, and it can be really stressful and nerve-racking, so it’s important to get advice to make the right decision about what to do next. If you’ve not got the offer you wanted from a university or college, there are so many choices out there so you don’t need to feel you’ve missed out.
Going to college or uni can be the best time of your life, a time to try new things and meet new people, as well learn a subject or skill, and for a lot of people it’s the first step towards independence.
Being a student is about a so much more than just your course. Check out what your student association is up to by typing in your college or university on this page,
I know this time of year can be a bit of an information overload, and it can be difficult to know where to go for what you really need to know. We’ve included some information and links which we hope will help, as well as some more information about what we do at NUS.
Good luck whatever you decide to do – and look out for the NUS Scotland campaign stall during Freshers week!
