Director of Liberty Shami Chakrabarti CBE, talking about the Campaign of the Year entries, said: “As a scruffy campaigner myself I’ve got to doth my hat at the three outstanding campaigns that we unanimously shortlisted for Campaign of the Year….. All of these campaigns had a great spirit and a great mission to them.”

Talking about the Journalist of the Year entries, education editor of The Independent Richard Garner, said: “We were very impressed by the quality of the writing and the work that we were presented with.”

Di Boston from SUEI was helping to judge the Higher Education Students’ Union of the Year, about the winner she said: “The panel was really impressed by a strong shortlist but one union stood out to us, one union for whom it has been a really good year.”
