You can watch National Conference Live here.
Following a tumultuous year in further and higher education and a revival of the importance of student politics, NUS holds its key decision making conference that sets policy for the coming year and elects representatives for all key positions this week.
NUS national conference is the key decision making body of the organisation, with over 1000 students and student representatives present from across the UK - every affiliated students' union, guild and association is entitled to send at least one representative to participate in conference, passing policy that sets the priorities of the national union for the coming year.
All key elected officers are elected at the conference and this year will see the successor to Aaron Porter, NUS’ most high-profile President for many years, will be named. Vice-Presidents for Higher Education, Further Education, Welfare Union Development and Society and Citizenship will also be elected.
The conference also sees votes on key parts of NUS policy that dictate the
direction of campaigns.
