NUS and Universities Week present: The Big Picture

Got a talent for taking amazing photos? If so, NUS’ Big Picture Competition is your chance to shine.

  • Find this useful?

Part of this year’s Universities Week: What’s the Big Idea? campaign, the competition will bring to life the fantastic work students and universities are doing in their community. From environmental projects and youth mentoring schemes through to community music events and charity fashion shows, we want to capture the most exciting and engaging examples of your work in action.

You can photograph what you like and how you like, just as long as the pictures you take are high quality and illustrate how universities and students are making a difference to the bigger picture.

Your photos will be assessed by a top panel of judges, including Tim Kerr, Head of Photography at TNR, part of the Press Association and Nigel Semmens, Director of Communications at Universities UK.

First prize is £250 worth of photography vouchers and all shortlisted entries will be showcased on the Universities UK and NUS website – who knows, your image may even make it into a newspaper or magazine.

So, whether you are pursuing a career in photography or simply love taking photos, we want you to grab your cameras and get involved. To enter, please submit your favourite photo before 1 June 2011 to neighbourhood@nus.org.uk

Universities Week 2011 aims to highlight the essential role of universities in the UK and their impact on the economy, culture, society, the environment and much more. For more details on this year’s campaign visit www.universitiesweek.org.uk and join us at www.facebook.com/UKUniversities.
