Building stalls and using props to communicate a campaign can work for any issue. With regards to informing students about the national demo last year, a number of you created innovative displays.

As Tom Dolton, Communications Officer at Union of UEA Students describes “We decorated the Union building as a building site, using the demolition theme we produced posters that said things like “warning High tuition fees” & “Warning falling funding” which we combined with the road signs. [If we were to do this again] I think I would have decorated the building further. We found it was a really good way of getting apathetic students to ask questions and enquire about the event.”

Darryl Light, Financial and Commercial Officer, Cardiff University Students’ Union explains how they did something unusual to grab the attention of their students “A flash mob or other marketing gimmick can work wonders. We’ve used a milk float this year as a campaigns vehicle and it’s worked well for raising awareness; anything that gets students talking!”
