Star status

This is the first time the Union has entered the accreditation scheme and, out of the 795 entries, LUU  was one of the 209 organisations that achieved a one ‘Star Status’.

The Best Companies Accreditation scheme is like the ‘Michelin style’ star rating system for organisations that demonstrate high levels of employee engagement.

There are eight key factors which staff are surveyed on and these include: workplace engagement, leadership, well-being, my manager, my team, my company, personal growth, giving something back, and fair deal.

Antonia Frezza, HR Manager at Leeds University Union, says: “LUU is delighted to achieve a one star status in this accreditation scheme. We work really hard to ensure the Union is a great place for our staff to work and it’s great that this has been recognised.  This is a first for LUU and we are really pleased with the result.”

Leeds University Union and Kent Union are the only two students’ unions in the country to receive this accreditation.
