This week the government has announced a review of higher education funding. It’s feared this could pave the way for big increases in fees charged to students.
NUS has teamed up with 38 Degrees to prevent this - we can use this review as an opportunity to push MPs to support a real rethink and pledge to oppose more fee increases, which would be deeply unpopular with students, their families, and the public at large.
Together we can push politicians to think again. If enough of us contact MPs this week, we can push them to pledge support for a fresh look at university funding, not just a fresh increase in fees. Universities need money, but this doesn’t need to be at the expense of university being accessible to students of all backgrounds. Now’s our chance to get MPs to sign up to a fresh approach.
