The event brought to together students, trade unionists and workers in the women’s sector to discuss what can be done on campus and in workplaces to end violence against women.
NUS Wales Women’s Officer Estelle Hart said
“For too long the idea that only a certain type of women experiences violence has been allowed to prevail. We know that this is simply not the case and any woman, from any background can be a victim of gender-based violence.
This event has not only worked to challenge these assumptions but has helped give our members the tools to tackle violence head-on and help prevent it, not just pick up the pieces when the worst happens”
The day included roundtable discussions, workshops and speakers from a variety of organisations including Welsh Women’s Aid and Rape Crisis Scotland.
