Use your own crockery and cutlery. This may mean more washing up, but it will save you some money and prevent more waste. Ask a friend to help you and it won’t feel like such a chore.
Recycle all bottles and cans after the party or use them for something else. If you have any jars left over you can use them as candle holders. Keep tubs and use them as lunchboxes.
Using candles will save electricity, which means you will be saving money and the planet. Remember to use glass candle holders to stop any unwanted accidents – and to blow them out when your guests finally decided to head home!
Use plants to decorate your flat/garden. Not only will they help clear the room of carbon dioxide, you can also give them away at the end of the night as part favours for your friends to plant and nurture.
