As part of the European Patent Office’s (EPO) celebration of the 40th anniversary of the European Patent Convention (EPC) the EPO is staging an Innovation Contest for students in the European Patent Organisation’s member states.

Candidates will be asked to define a research project of potential interest for future research and development in one of five technical fields relating to green technology and sustainability.  The Intellectual Property Office (IPO) will select one candidate (which may be an individual or team) for each technical field to go forward to the European competition.  Eventual winners in each of these fields will be invited to an award ceremony in Munich in October 2013 and will receive a prize of €5000.
