We have less than eight years to reverse the growth in global carbon emissions, otherwise global warming will almost-certainly exceed the danger threshold of 2 degrees C and, in December 2009, the most important international talks in the history of humankind will take place at the UN Climate Change negotiations in Copenhagen.
Time to put things right
This is the year when we can put things right. Stop Climate Chaos Coalition, the UK’s largest group of people dedicated to urgent action on climate change, will be seizing every opportunity along the way to demand the UK Government takes radical domestic action to cut our carbon emissions and show international leadership and NUS will be at the heart of this. Join us now and say no to coal
We will be joining committed supporters, campaigners, voters, workers, nature lovers, hearts, minds and voices of over 80 UK organizations, from environment and development charities to unions, faith, community and women's groups. The priorities for Stop Climate Chaos over the coming months will ending the UK’s reliance on dirty coal power and pushing for a greener economy with a massive investment programme in clean green renewable energy.
