Students’ Green Fund
The fund seeks to help English students’ unions to take leadership and ownership of the sustainability agenda in higher education.
This page contains information how the fund will be run, what we will fund, and how you can apply. Before you start, please read our Students’ Green Fund business plan, as that will give you important contextual and background information that should know, and see the presentation we delivered at the National Conference launch (or the presentation from the EAUC follow up launch) as a concise summary of the Fund.
We have created a short animation designed to inspire you about the journey we are taking students’ unions on through our work and this Fund
How to apply
Unlike conventional bid processes, we will help you to develop your application(s) through a process of formative feedback.
As soon as you have a good idea for a fundable project, please contact us to discuss it. We will usually arrange a time to discuss it with you over the phone.
Please see our ideas bank for inspiration and some useful further guidance on developing your ideas.
Once we have discussed your ideas and plans with you, and assuming we think it is a fundable idea, we will encourage you to put down in writing some more details through the expression of interest process below
After we have received that, we will allocate a member of staff from our ethical and environmental department to help you develop your ideas into a full application. This process of collaboration and guided support is integral - there should be no surprise applications once we come to the deadline.
After the full application deadline on 26 June 2013, we then present all applications to our student-led funding panel, and intend to be able to fund between 25 and 50 of them, allocating the full £5m.
Expression of interest information
After speaking to us about your idea(s), you need to send us some expression of interest information. We strongly encourage you to send your EoI in as early as you can so we have time to help you develop your ideas into winning applications through the formative feedback process. This must reach us before 12 noon on 05 June 2013.
