The research department at NUS Services provides bespoke research and wider students’ unions programmes to our members.
We have a track record in providing excellence in union research, ranging from in-depth assessments of existing services such as nightclubs, events and core services, through to providing top level advice on three year strategic plans with visions, values and strategic objectives.
Work can be qualitative, quantitative or a hybrid of both to suit budget and needs.
The research department has a proven track record of working with a wide range of commercial partners in running gold standard market research with students, ensuring methodological excellence.

The Ethical and Environmental Department at NUS Services leads trailblazing, academically robust multidisciplinary research on a variety of issues key to our members, our suppliers and our funders.
With funding from key funders such as Defra, and the Higher Education Academy amongst others, and academic partnerships within the sustainability sector, NUS Services offer research excellence in sustainable development and pro-environmental social research.
Now in it’s fifth year, the successful mystery shopping programme at NUS Services has provided consistent, independent insight into the quality of commercial services within Students’ Unions with tangible benefits to sales, business performance, customer satisfaction and motivated staff.
NUS Services run a research panel of dedicated students of all walks of life to allow for fast turn around, ad hoc research at competitive rates. Research can be as part of a wider omnibus survey or bespoke to suit.
The four strong research team is based at NUS Services in Macclesfield and are known for their dedication, attention to detail and sense of humour!
