The Higher Education zone works to improve the delivery of higher education. Part of their work is to produce research and influence policy discussion at a national level to improve all aspects of education.
They also support course representatives, develop the National Student Survey and campaign to improve quality regulations as part of their work to improve the quality of delivery.
Specific work includes representation of the mature and part-time students’ campaign and the postgraduate students’ campaign.
Partner organisations they work with include the Quality Assurance Agency (QAA), Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE) and Higher Education Authority (HEA) as well as organisations that represent university mission groups, such as Million+.
A current focus for the zone is to promote the public good of education to the wider society.
