Supplier Equipment Project Toolkit

Supplier Equipment Project Toolkit

Fridges in a students' union

Working with 10 suppliers, we carried out around 100 experiments on equipment in twenty-one pilot unions* to identity which simple actions can save the most energy.

20 types of equipment were studied

Over twenty types of equipment were studied including soft-drink post-mix machines, bottle coolers, dairy-deck fridges, beer coolers, games machines, plasma TV screens and illuminated poster display boards.

Our findings

We found out lots of really interesting findings and have condensed them down into the ten short sheets below that we have called our Reduced Energy Guide.

We hope you find them useful and that you save lots of energy by using them.

We've keen to track who uses this toolkit

Before you get started, please note that we are keen to track what actions our member unions implement as a result of this toolkit. If you are implementing actions as a result of this toolkit please do complete the logbook so we can monitor success of this project.

This will really help us to prove to potential funders that we are delivering on reducing carbon. Please note that you can report you actions regardless of whether you are metered for electricity!

Although there is no deadline for completing, please do send them back within a month of taking action and then again after each new action – we can then follow up with you after that to get occasional updates and offer further updates and advice.
