The difference between studying at school, college and university may seem daunting at first but as you start this year, know NUS will be there to provide you with all the information you need to help you settle in and make the most of your time.
There's so much to do, and so little time but remember to pace yourself and get the most out of our advice content on these pages so you don't get left in the dark!
Getting started with the basics
If you are sharing a house for the very first time it can sometimes be a challenging experience. However, our handy housing and money tips will be able to help you out. And if you're never cooked before in your life, you're in for a treat! If you want to make really quick dishes, check out our Tweecipes!
Keep yourself safe
Once you've got your new home or flat make sure you protect yourself. Students are often victims of crime, especially in freshers. Wise up, be safe, and make sure you hold onto your possessions.
Remember to visit your students' union
Above all, remember that your local students' union is the hub of all activity and should be your first port of call after settling in to your new home. The union is there just for you.
