Tips for Course Reps

About Course Reps

NUS aims to provide greater national support to Reps in the future, and so if you are a course rep studying at a university or college within the UK you access a number of resources to support your work.

  • Find this useful?

“The learning experience is key for all students, and course reps are central to the enhancement of this area.

You have a crucial function in providing your institution and students' union with valuable feedback on the academic experience of students on your course, as well as act as a powerful tool to promote and secure change within your university or college.

"As well as being invaluable to students in your course or department, you are also recognised by your students' union as having an important role in ensuring your students’ unions’ campaigns and representation remain legitimate, meaningful and relevant, so that the changes to the student experience sought by your student officers are truly valued by the student body and reflective of their needs.

"Course Reps can access support, such as training, recognition and resources from their students’ union or institution to assist them in representing students effectively. To find out more about what’s available to you, contact your local students’ union." Aaron Porter, NUS Vice President Higher Education.
