The 16-25 Railcard normally costs £26 and saves users 1/3 on rail fares throughout the United Kingdom for a year. NUS has now teamed up with 16-25 Railcard to offer NUS Extra cardholders a 10% discount.
NUS President Wes Streeting said “Travel costs can really add up for students, so this will be extremely welcome news to NUS Extra Card holders."
The 16-25 Railcard can be used on both long and short trips as well as weekends, public holidays and during the week. The only restriction is that if you travel at or before 10am Monday to Friday, a minimum fare will apply. The Railcard can also be used on all standard and first-class advance fares.
Since launching in August the new NUS Extra card have proven more popular than ever before. In addition to the discount with 16-25 Railcard, NUS today announced a further range of discounts that have been added to NUS Extra since launch including ATS Euromaster, The Ecologist, Ace Card, Scotts, ATOC (YOR), Joe Browns, Truffle Shuffle, Ben Sherman, Juicy Bikes, The Independent, Cross Country Trains, Mango and Nicky Clark.
