Go Green Week is an annual student week of action on climate change. NUS has supported Go Green Week since its inception, and will again be working with People & Planet groups in students' unions in colleges and universities to put together a week of actions, events and fundraisers to raise awareness of the issue of climate change.
Go Green Week 2009 was the biggest yet with lots of students' unions putting on fantastic actions, events and fundraisers.
Our institutions have a significant impact on their local, national and international environment, from the physical emissions to the purchases made by our Colleges and universities. UK further and higher education is responsible for emitting 12.3 million tonnes of CO2 every year and this doesn’t include the millions more emitted by people travelling to and from their place of work or study.
