Black students in education

We’re launching a research project to explore the experiences of black students in education.  Was university a brilliant experience? Did you face discrimination at a post-16 college? Are you now in a job you love because of your degree?

Surveys and research by the National Student Survey, Equality Challenge Unit  and Future Track  continue to highlight that black students face inequality within, as well as entry into, higher education  and are less likely to be satisfied with their student experience. Our project focuses on various aspects of academic experience such as the admissions procedure, attainment, campus life and support networks.

How you can get involved
This is an exciting and important project, and we’re calling on all black students to get involved. We're in the early stages at the moment and so we'll be gathering data and talking to you, and others like you, to build up some engaging case studies.

To take part in a focus group or host a focus group, please contact Mandeep Rupra-Daine, Liberation Research and Development Officer for Black Students.
