It was in a packed conference room at the University of London Club, Gower Street, on 11-12 February 1922, that the National Union of Students was created, and Ivison Macadam elected its first president.
Now, 90 years on, we reflect on the flourishing history of our national union, the pivotal role it has played in enhancing students’ lives, and the great progress made by students’ unions over the years.
